Crowding/Spacing

You might be surprised at the amazing transformations patients experience through braces and Invisalign clear aligner treatment. But seeing is believing, so at Shults Orthodontics, we’re happy to show you how orthodontic services can transform your smile and your life! Just ask our patients from the Loxahatchee, Royal Palm Beach, Wellington, and West Palm Beach areas and you’ll find out they not only have more confidence, but they are enjoying the many health benefits that come from orthodontic treatment. You’ll notice some of these patients were in need of early treatment which is why Dr. Wiernicki and Dr. Shults recommend you see your family orthodontist for the first time at around 7-years-old.

Dental Crowding + Dental Crossbite + Impacted Tooth (Phase I & Phase II)

Patient presented with dental crowding, a shift of the upper dental midline to the right impacting the right lateral incisor and a dental crossbite on his left side. "Early" Phase I braces were placed to align the teeth, facilitate eruption of the upper right lateral incisor by shifting the dental midline to the left, and to correct the unilateral left posterior crossbite preventing chipping of the teeth and asymmetric facial growth. Phase II comprehensive orthodontic treatment followed a couple of years later to finalize the bite and detail incisor esthetics.

Moderate Dental Crowding (Phase I and Phase II)

Solution: Expanders and Braces

Patient presented with significant dental crowding and esthetic concerns. Phase I expansion and braces improved her dental alignment and smile esthetics plus facilitated the emergence of the remaining permanent teeth. Phase II braces were placed two years later after all the permanent teeth were present to finalize the bite and detail incisor esthetics.

Severe Deep Bite & Dental Crowding (Phase I)

Patient presented with a severe deep bite causing damage to the gums around the front teeth and inadequate space for the upper lateral incisors to erupt. "Early" Phase I braces were placed to reduce the deep bite and align the teeth to facilitate emergence of the incisors. Phase II comprehensive orthodontic treatment will be required in a couple of years after the remaining permanent teeth emerge to finalize the bite and detail incisor esthetics.

Severe Dental Crowding + Impacted Tooth + Midline Asymmetry (Phase I)

Patient presented with moderate dental crowding and the upper dental midline shifted to the right impacting the right lateral incisor. Phase I braces were placed to improve the dental alignment and correct the upper dental midline to facilitate eruption of the upper lateral incisor. Phase II comprehensive orthodontic treatment will be required in a couple of years after the remaining permanent teeth emerge to finalize the bite and detail incisor esthetics.

Overbite

overbite + dental crowding (phase i)

The patient presented with a severe overbite and dental spacing. Phase I, "early" braces were placed to align the patient's teeth and growth modification was used to correct the severe overbite by redirecting her facial growth. Phase II comprehensive orthodontic treatment will be required in a couple years after the remaining permanent teeth emerge to finalize the bite and detail incisor esthetics.

Patient's parents were concerned about his overbite and damage to the upper left central incisor due to the protrusion of the upper front teeth. Patient's Phase I "early" orthodontic treatment included braces and growth modification to align and retract the upper front teeth to reduce the risk of further chipping. Phase II comprehensive orthodontic treatment will be required in a couple years after the remaining permanent teeth emerge to finalize the bite and detail incisor esthetics

overbite + dental crowding (Phase i & phase ii)

Phase I "early" orthodontic treatment included braces for dental alignment and growth modification to correct her overbite. Phase II treatment was simple braces (accepted) or "Invisalign" (declined) with light orthodontic elastics.

Overbite

Underbite + dental crowding (phase I)

Patient presented with an underbite and dental crowding. "Early" interceptive treatment with dentofacial growth modification and braces was recommended to correct the underbite and prevent chipping of the incisors. Growth modification corrected the underlying cause of Haley's underbite, her disproportionate jaw growth, and promotes more proportionate facial growth for her remaining growth. Phase II comprehensive orthodontic treatment will be required in a couple years after the remaining permanent teeth emerge to finalize the bite and detail incisor esthetics.<

underbite + facial asymmetry + dental crowding (phase i)

Patient presented with an underbite, facial asymmetry and dental crowding. "Early" interceptive braces were placed for dental alignment and dentofacial orthopedic growth modification was initiated to correct the patient's asymmetric jaw growth. Growth modification corrected the underlying cause of Haley's underbite and facial asymmetry, her disproportionate jaw growth, and promotes more proportionate facial growth for her remaining growth. Phase II comprehensive orthodontic treatment will be required in a couple years after the remaining permanent teeth emerge to finalize the bite and detail incisor esthetics.
